EMIT - first on-line training for healthcare professionals : EMIT develops a work-linked training in hospitals on Ultrasound and Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technology for young medical physics graduates and other healthcare professionals. New curricula, timetables and ICT training materials (electronic and web-based) for two training modules have been developed. EMIT materials are loaded onto an interactive Internet site as distance vocational training. The contents of the modules will help the training of young people in using Ultrasound and Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technology. The fact that the project was developed by a Consortium of Universities and Hospitals (plus a professional organisation) will render its application in practice relatively simple. This project started in 2001 and lasted 36 months.
