PROJECT
FINISHED
ContextThe idea of this project came out of several discussions and analysis of European and national policies in supporting 'knowledgetriangle' implementation at large scale in order to assist the international, European and national targets related to logistic and chainmanagement sector. Partners conducted a desk research, data analysis and organised workshops and Skype meetings among them in order to understand better the state of art and the concrete needs in the sector. There are concrete EU and national strategies regarding 'knowledge triangle' in general: The Europe 2020 strategy, its FlagshipInitiatives and the new Integrated Guidelines put knowledge at the heart of the Union’s efforts for achieving smart, sustainable andinclusive growth. The Europe 2020 education headline target stipulates that, by 2020, 40 % of young people should successfullycomplete higher education or equivalent studies. On the other hand, Partners found out from the different European reports that logistics and supply chain management activities arecritical for the competiveness of all business sectors and are equally critical for not-for-business organizations in order for theiractivities to be efficient and effective. However, as indicated also in the report of the Sixth University- Business Forum 2015, there are still barriers to university-business cooperation that need to be addressed if Europe is to remain a knowledge intensive globally competitive economy. Universities and companies need to better understand the benefits of cooperation.Regarding the logistic and supply chain management sector, there are some European and national initiatives regarding professional qualifications, but there is still a need to harmonize qualification schemes and certification of skills in order to makethem more usable during the recruiting processes.Project aims and objectivesThe project aims to strongly contribute to enhancing cooperation between higher education, research and business in the logisticssector, by incorporating European recommendations in the field of higher education, lifelong learning and work based learningmethodologies. The project will take into consideration existing qualification systems for logistics professionals, the EQF and the educationalcurricula offered by HEI on the logistics and supply chain area and will provide integration tools and guidelines to harmonize HEIofferings, qualification requirements from the business and professional qualification systems. Moreover the project will enhance transparency and mutual trust mechanisms, will contribute to the improvement of the qualityand relevance of the higher education; and will support the labour market relevance of academic offer by providing a ‘TriangleFramework’ for defining, implementing and monitoring the academic programmes.PartnershipThe project brings together 8 partners from 4 European countries, forming a transnational cooperation partnership with a balancedregional geographical representation of the Erasmus+ area and with qualitative representation for Italy. Moreover, the partnership combines academia, business (logistics and supply chain management) and research competences in fields such as: university-business cooperation, quality assurance, assessment of competences. Methodological approach and key outputsSince the very beginning of the project partners will define the concrete methodological strategies and approaches fordisseminating existing good practices in the field of 'knowledge triangle' implementation, in general and for the logistics sector, in particular (Compendium of good practices). The consortium will design and launch the project official website. Then, Partners will develop the contents of the Framework (FRAMELOG): 'knowledge triangle' criteria and indicators, stakeholders' involvement plan and guidelines and tools for the concrete implementation of the FRAMELOG. The next step will be to define the Guidelines for addressing quality and assessment challenges within the FRAMELOG.These outputs will be validated during the project consultation and testing phase and will be fine tuned at the end of the project, made available online, on the website. These results will be included in the final publication of the Project and will be further exploited with open licence.
