The aim of the ECRIV-AV operation is to create a pan-European network to represent the audiovisual and film-making industries. Using data-sharing tools such as the Internet, databases, newsletters and permanent working groups, the project intends to establish the foundations for a interregional cooperation to allow the audiovisual sector to operate on an European scale. Achievements: Achievements so far During its last period of activity, ECRIF - av has reached its initial goal to get a a total of 15 regional funds as members of the CINE - REGIO network. These funds represent 25% of the public funding provided by sub - national public entities in Europe. They have reached the 'critical mass' to represent the interests of regional film funds across Europe in order to strenghten the co-development of audiovisual products, fusing talents and resources in different regions for a wider market. The last ECRIF – av meeting took place in Vienna on March, 11th, 2005. The ECRIF –av founding members as well as the other CINE – REGIO members (15 in total) met with producers as well as National subsidy bodies from some of the Central European countries (Poland, Hungary, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Slovakia). Case studies of co – production between Austrian and central European producers were presented. Issues such as the promoting a form of Regional film distribution and improving the co – productions between central European countries and European producers were discussed. One of the achievement of ECRIF-av 's action has been to initiate the creation of the Salento Film Fund which has been announced by the Provincia di Lecce at the October, 2004 Conference. ECRIF - av also contributed to the launch of the POEM fund located in Oulou in the North of Finland. Among other achievements are bilateral coproductions which have been initiated by film producers such as a 'Walloon - Pays de Loire' coproduction or a 'Viennese - catalan' one.
