The project "Europe within easy reach / L'Europe à portée de main" brings together 8 partners from 5 European countries: the Fédération nationale des Francas (France), AWO Bundesverband eV (Germany), Arci Catania (Italy), ACPP (Portugal), le Centre d'Action Laïque Picardie Laïque (Belgium), Dreams for Life (Romania) Fundatia Conexiuni (Romania) and Giosef Enna (Italy).
The overall objective of the 11 participants and their organisations is the following: to contribute to making Europe the actual territory of life and action of children, adolescents and youth.
We designed this project in order to strengthen the capacities of local educational actors in Europe and about Europe. We aim to share our practices and our educational plans for the free time of children, adolescents and youth. We want that more actors in our movements refer more systematically to Europe and to build a european strategy for the largest number of actions. Finally, we are questioning the creation of a European cooperation network which can improve our work in networking, advocacy and capitalisation of practices at European level.
The main activity of the project is a meeting of 11 players of the non-formal education sector across Europe. The meeting is scheduled in Berlin from 27 to 31 January 2015. It will address two aspects of European labor: 1. Training "Acting within a European collective" by producing a mapping of existing European networks in our fields of action; and 2. Training "Producing an argumentation for Europe within our organisations."
We will use informal methods where participants are involved in their own training : ice breakers, role playings, "europa" café (world café), dynamic assessments, YouthPass, connecting constantly the activities with the issues and challenges they rise in order to arouse critical thinking. For example, the issue of democracy in network cooperation; or the issue of using argumentation methodology coming from trade, as an innovation or alienation?
As concerns results and impact, we design a second activity specifically for this purpose: an assessment and prospects meeting, one month after the training, to be held in Strasbourg on 19 and 20 February 2015. It will bring together 4 participants (France, Germany, Italy, Romania). The project is strongly oriented towards the dissemination of results in partner organisations, this impact will be particularly assessed. The idea of creating a European platform and the test of the argumentation will be evaluated, the tools will be adjusted depending on this feedback. The prospect meeting will launch the next flagship activity of this platform, which should be able to involve more actors as well as adolescents and youth.
