Our project "Europe at my playground II" (eng. "Europe in my backyard II") took place during the summer holidays (01.07-31.08.2015). For 2 mounth, four volunteers - two from Italy and two from Georgia, conducted workshops in Wroclaw for children and young people aged 12-16 years. Youngsters who took part in the workshops came mainly from Wroclaw and the surrounding area. Space for activities have been provided to us by friendly organizations. Last turnus of the summer school was in the Youth Centre of Sociotherapy in Wroclaw. Our volunteers were young people who are willing to take on challenges, gain new experience and full of creative ideas. During the nearly two-week training with the help of experienced youthworkers, volunteers prepared the original schedule (scenario of workshops), which was than carried during each of the summer schools. It was the second edition of our project "Europe at my playground". Volunteers during the workshops through games and plays undertook topics of civic consciousness, ecology, intercultural dialogue, history and culture. The most important goal of our work was to "bring Europe" to Wroclaw's playgrounds and through work with ours volunteers open youngster's eyes to the world, combating stereotypes and encourage creative thinking. Through contact with new cultures and languages we managed to stimulate young people to take action. The workshops were conducted in English so motivated the youth to learn and practice a foreign language. We also managed to promote volunteering among young people which very clearly to be seen. The project also promote the EVS among the local community in volunteer's countries. They shared their experiences both on the blog and among friends after returning via the websites/blogs of sending organizations. The result of our project is the photo blog created by volunteers and participants. We were able to organize a picnic on the last summer school with parents and friends and invited guests.
