The foreign training programs have been totally integrated into the organisational culture of “Séf” Vocational Training School, our mobility programs supplement the theoretical training in Hungary with extra professional knowledge, which is based on the one acquired here. The majority of students attaining our school choose this institute because year by year more and more students get the opportunity to go to a foreign internship for a few months and improve their professional knowledge to a higher level. The prestige of vocational education has increased, the students’ level of acquiring a foreign language has developed significantly and the feedback from our Hungarian professional trainers is positive as well. The school has been building its partnership for ten years, as it is searching for workplaces offering high quality abroad, chooses its partners where our students can gain the most successful training. The need of a wide-ranging variety of practical implementation of the programs encouraged the institution leaders to revise the training structure and transform it according to the practice of mobility, so the training block was introduced. It ensures that the students trained abroad will not get behind the curriculum. The staff of our school created its internationalisation strategy, and we realize the education, practical training, catching up process and the teacher training programs according to this strategy. Our institution is constantly supported by the Hungarian National Gastronomy Association, the Veszprém County Organisation of KISOSZ (grouping small businesses), Veszprém County Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Veszprém County Branch of the Regional Labour Office. The excellent cooperation with the above mentioned organisations is due to our foreign programs, recognised also at county level.
In Cyprus we have old, well-established cooperating partners, but we contact new partners as well. Beside the four-star Asterias Beach Hotel found in Ayia Napa and the five-star Atlantica Aeneas Hotel, in the project year 2015/2016 a new hotel chain joined in, the 4-5-star hotel chain “Kanika” in Limassol. They employed our students from spring to autumn, in accordance with the touristic high season. Because of having positive experiences from among our German partners, the professional training places and partner hotels of the Avesto Ausbildungsverbung Centre in Thüringen could accept more of our students according to the increased number of guests. The number of training possibilities of the institution in Oberhof also increased. Their partner hotels awaited beside German students also Hungarian ones in Austria. The Arbeitsmarktservice Voralberg also took part in organising and planning training programs and creating work programs abroad through Avesto. They adjust the training programs to the touristic seasons, they accept students during the high season in skiing tourism according to local conditions.
In “Séf” Vocational School it is already a tradition that foreign partners personally meet the candidates during foreign language interviews, where they assess their English / German language skills, their dedication for the profession and how prepared they are. All the student hosting places know the practice of the training system of Hungarian education and they get information about changes in the education system, the levels of the professional exam requirements when they come to Hungary. In accordance with the high interest and increasing demand and concerning the results of the interviews in Hungary, the project management accepted the application of 64 students, supporting them during their training abroad from among the ones applying for foreign training in the project year 2015/2016. The institution treats socially disadvantaged children with priority. More than half (40 students) of the participants of the planned project are socially disadvantaged. For them the mobility and schooling options are of major importance in order to get a good job in the future. Preparing the regular student mobilities and the professional meetings and discussions with the foreign partners have inclined the colleagues, who take part in the project, to adjust their professional training programs and curriculums to the new challenges. The professional training practice fulfilled abroad has been acknowledged by the management of our school, it has been considered to be the part of the required number of practical training hours in Hungary. The parties involved in the project (sending institution, accepting hotels, trainee) recorded the level of theoretical, practical knowledge expected abroad, its evaluation and validating conditions in learning and cooperation agreements. The project increased the participants’ development, the efficiency of the training and the recognition of the school while it motivated teachers and instructors working in our institution.
