In addition, EMLex counts on the collaboration of Universität Hildesheim and the Institut für Deutsche Sprache as associated members. The four-semester programme accepts students each winter term. Prospective students must hold a first university degree with a mark above average and have to do a special entrance examination. Basic knowledge of German and English, which can be deepened in the first semester, is essential because teaching will be done exclusively in these two languages. The programme corresponds to the regulations of the Bologna process. The total number of students is limited to 30 per year because of the particular design of the summer-term block seminars in which the international component of the course manifests itself. Career prospectsPost-graduates will be able to work either as lexicographers at a publishing company or as academic lexicographers in all fields of Lexicography, from the conception of printed and online dictionaries to specific lexicographical tasks and further to the technical realization of lexicographical products and information systems. An international experienceEMLex brings together students from different countries of the world. The post-graduates will be Europe-wide specialists because EMLex is unique in Germany and Europe, even more so with its international form of organization. In addition to the general diploma, the students will receive a further certificate in which the internationality of the contents of their studies is documented. The programme is taught in English and German and counts on the participation of guest lecturers from Porto Alegre (Brazil), Montreal (Canada), Austin (USA) and Moscow (Russia).DiplomaOn completion of the EMLex programme, students will receive a Joint Degree Certificate.
