"Europe in local community" is a project of NGO Brave Phone. The project took place in the Children's House Borovje, Brave Phone`s program which works to prevent unacceptable behavior of children and young people in the local community. The project was implemented in the period of 20 months and included in its implementation one volunteer. Activity of volunteer lasted 10 months and to 24 days (due to early departure volunteers for personal reasons). EVS volunteer has participated in the creation and implementation of workshops for children in cooperation with local volunteers and in creating and preparing events and manifestations of Organization. EVS volunteer had the opportunity to participate in the work of the Association. The ideas and the involvement of volunteers have directly affected the quality of life of children and young people in the local community. Cooperation with local volunteers influenced the communication between young people from different regions of Europe. The idea was to encourage them to get involved in the Erasmus + or another similar program that offers young people experience in learning, traveling and getting to know other cultures. The project was initiated to raise awareness of young people about their role as active citizens and feeling of global solidarity. Through creative workshops, art and culture, children learned to be tolerant of people from other countries and other cultures and languages. The local community has received information about opportunities for young people in the EU and Erasmus + and also learned about the culture, language and customs of other EU countries. The project had a positive impact on stereotypes about people from other cultures.
