Europa interattiva
Start date: Nov 3, 2014, End date: Nov 2, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

How can the Internet multiform components be used for the teaching of a foreign language? Which are its benefits in this context? How the traditional connection « teacher – student » can change? Which are the real needs of the students and the digital media possibilities of satisfying them? The project is the result of the common will of teachers and head schools, motivated by the potential opening on Europe and the possibility of applying innovator methodologies of teaching, that can let the students feel more involved and active in the lessons. Essentially, the final goal of the project is illustrating and evaluating the efficacy of the use of technologies in learning of the communicative aspects of a foreign language, favouring the active construction of the student learning. This type of method not only activates the linguistic abilities of the students, but also the cognitive and relational ones. The instrumental use of the digital resources and the webtools will allow the exchange, the sharing of the knowledge and experiences in all the activity phases, favouring the formal, informal and not formal learning in a selection of roles deeply changed:the teacher is the fulcrum in the process of learning, a sort of director that stimulates, canalises, appreciates, selects the materials, facilitating the sharing of the resources and the student makes his own learning through his choises, based on his needs, cognitive style and previous background. The teachers’ objective is to share didactic experiences, having "digital natives" as students, learning in real and virtual spaces, from disciplinary knowledge to competences, from peer-to-peer learning to many-to-many learning. The work group will be essential to appraise the competences and the vocations of each student, through an equitable distribution of tasks. For this reason the students will be guided to the drafting of a blog in a foreign language. This activity transforms the class into a community that, thank to the guide of the teacher, gains its knowledge and elaborates competences. The persons who join the project are two school heads and three teachers, they want to make innovations and increase their school with different cultural and linguistic experiences or other. This project called «interactive Europe» will allow the use of authentic documents, developing competences in the sectors of the oral and written expression, oral and written comprehension but also and above all the oral interaction. Mechanisms, linguistic, grammatical and lexical automatisms will be created to speak gradually more spontaneous and natural. During the week of mobility, the students will have to realise products about the connection of the cultures and their daily life spotlighting the likeness but also the differences between the two Countries. Their projects will be adapted in a ebook or on a blog page and published on the platform e-twinning. Simultaneously to the intervention of the teachers, it is foreseen a meeting between the school heads of the two institutes, which will be not only an exchange of experiences on the management and administration of the respective schools, the likeness and differences of the educational system in the two countries, but also the creation of an institutional connection between them, supporting and sharing human, didactic and cultural experiences in a long-lasting way. The project « Interactive Europe » will give the possibility, thanks to the determination of teachers and school heads, to put in contact two Countries, two cultures, give a concrete dimension of learning, weaving connections in the European youth, holder itself of new projects and a new rush. Teachers should be able to work with knowledge, technology and information, making effective use of technology where it is appropriate.Their confidence in the use of ICT should allow them to integrate it effectively into learning and teaching.
