The educational concept created by the city of Ravensburg "Future 2020 - training at the city council " provides that trainees can provide some of their practical training abroad to undergo further training abroad. The aim is to promote their own mobility and in addition to the recovery of its own professionals to promote the personal development of trainees . Hence, in addition to the improvement of international action skills and foreign language skills are intensified. Also the independence and personal flexibility should be encouraged. Knowledge of foreign languages need now not only our budding event managers and merchants for tourism and leisure, but in particular the public administration clerks and skilled employees for office communication. The exchange promotes international relations and broadens the view of our trainees . Ultimately, this increases the overall quality of education. Likewise, acquire the budding professionals intercultural skills , which are in the increasing number of citizens with a migration background an important qualification . The four-week posting to Plymouth (England ) is to be with 4 adult apprentices who complete dual vocational training and are in the second year of training , conducted in August 2015. After a one-week intensive language course a three-week practical placement is on the programme. Accommodation is in host families and it is offered a cultural programme. In the host country , the stay is implemented by our partner organization Tellus Group Ltd. They have years of experience with the implementation of mobility experiences and we work together very well since 2011. The course of the Tellus Group refreshes the existing English skills and deepens it . Participants can also receive voice and internship certificates that represent an advantage for further personal and professional life. By staying with host families and the daily contact with colleagues in the placement operation, the theme of our project is automatically lived " Europe first hand ." The trainees will be assigned to each separate host families to allow no "hiding" behind other trainees. Mostly, the students share their room with an intern from another country , so that in a very tangible intercultural consideration can and must be practiced. About teaching and work in the placement companies , the participants come together with students from other countries . This promotes our goal to encourage our students to overcome barriers and overcome prejudices . We as promoters promise us an increasing attractiveness as a training company in the increasingly competitive market for suitable trainees. The city of Ravensburg takes as a public employer a pioneering position , thus gaining additional training company as attractive. We also recruit the majority of our administrative staff from our trainees . Empirical evidence from the private sector and from already -made experience from assignments in the years 2011-2013 that trainees work after a stay abroad more independent, more flexible and are more motivated . Trainees see life of another country from a different perspective by getting there insight into the working world. In addition, the trainee has the opportunity to acquire country-specific skills as well as to meet operational processes and techniques they use in the city of Ravensburg and able to contribute . Accordingly, the acquired knowledge, experience and skills can be used directly for the city administration and its service quality to good .
