PROJECT
FINISHED
The project "Europa als Lernfeld” (Europe as a learning field) is run by Kolping Akademie Ingolstadt as a dispatching and coordinating organization in cooperation with its European partners and host organizations in Lithuania, Italy, Portugal, Spain and Hungary.
Almost one in four young people under the age of 25 is looking for a job. The situation in the crisis-shaken countries in Southern Europe is even worse. Due to this alarming situation professionals in training inclusion and education are required to respond flexibly and innovatively to new challenges. They need to become successful networkers and be able to develop innovative policies and strategies. Therefore our project addresses representatives of intercorporate vocational education, counselling (“Agentur für Arbeit” – a job agency-,”Job Center”, public institutions), vocational schools and companies.
The variety of information and ideas is the basis for further development of one´s own policies and establishing international networks. The central principle of exchanges is therefore to establish personal contacts and to initiate a collegial dialogue between personal experience and knowledge. Together, strategies, effects and success factors of training will be discussed and individual methods shall be developed in order to introduce the newly learned ideas and concepts as well as organizational structures to the respective institution. A key goal of the project is to open the organizations in terms of Europeanization by exchange of expertise and the associated training of participants. All participants will receive Europass mobility.
Professionals of training are essential for the development of support schemes that assist young people with their transition to school, education, work and their social integration. Similarly, they are partners and first point of contact for young people with neither confidence nor perspective, who seek their support. Accordingly, there is enormous demand for networking and exchange of views on implementation and success factors of innovative approaches to the integration of disadvantaged young people.
A total of 56 participants (8 participants per group) work in different areas of professional training and inclusion of disadvantaged youth and young adults in Germany. The staff consists of trainers and training managers in different companies, employees in job centers, youth and social welfare offices in sector 10 in Ingolstadt, as well as social workers, teachers and players in the training.
The project "Europa als Lernfeld" is planned and performed by Kolping Akademie along with its foreign partners and German actors of training travel to different countries as part of an exchange program to find out more about the facilities for the local education.
The partners are involved in all phases of the project. Even for the project development and application, we are in close contact with each other. Thus, everyone can actively participate in the planning and implementation. The partners know all content and data. They have all the information about design and responsibilities, roles and milestones to prepare. This ensures that upon receipt of the funding commitment can be directly transferred into the project implementation.
The organizion and preparition together with the partners starts with the funding approval by the National Agency. After that the consultation with the project partners will be held by us. Communication is held by exchange of documents, phone calls and e-mails.
To pursue the results working groups should be installed. Innovative education and integration concepts will be further developed and promoted at a national and international level. The program should also train professionals of various facilities for European issues in this area and implement the knowledge and skills in the respective organizations. With this project we strive for an opening of the organizations in terms of European themes in training in sector
10 and the surrounding areas. When it comes to selecting a partner, we focus on the willingness and the available resources of the target group.
After the trip, the participants assess the project with a report. In the participants´ follow-up meeting, the exchange is evaluated within the group. The participants reflect on possibilities and potentials for further development of own projects.
The aim of Kolping Akademie is to organize an "Europäischen Tag" (a European day), where international partners and former members of exchange programs come together and discuss issues related to vocational training in Europe. In the „Europäischen Tag“ there will be a public event where people will be informed about occupational education in Europe.
The results of the evaluations serve as the basis for similar projects and other exchange programs such as trainee programs, and will therefore be used in the working groups.
