Our school is located in Gragnano,a small town where there are neither cultural stimuli nor social centers.
This is one of the reasons why the school has always aimed at improving the teaching quality and preparing students to face with different realities in order to ease the transition from education into the labour market thanks to acquisition of formal and informal skills , to support possible working mobility in Europe. A lot of activities have been organized over the years to achieve these objectives.
However, the latest innovations in methodology and the 21st century challenges require more and more specialized professionalism both in terms of educational competence and in terms of foreign language competence and that is why the school has planned to address a considerable number of teachers to training courses abroad which can meet their needs and, at the same time, give them the opportunity to experience training in a wider context offered by the different European countries.
The goals to be achieved are: improvement in teachers performance, a higher level of competence in foreign language and educational methods, the acquisition of good practices in the interpersonal relationship which will contribute to improve the whole learning- teaching process. The supposed participants are 10 school teachers who have been teaching different disciplines (Foreign Language- Maths- Science ) for many years and who are responsible for specific tasks , and two employees from the administrative staff.
The foreign language teachers will join training courses about technology and ICT tools in didactics ; other teachers will join courses on CLIL methodology while the representatives of the administrative staff will attend training courses to improve their management competence and cultural behaviour in order to organize their group work better and better.
The planned activities consist of the identification of the participants, selection of the training courses which meet participants' needs; contacts with the Training Centres and tour operators in order to define travelling and accommodation; pre-training activities for the people involved in this experience; fulfilment of the experience abroad; and finally sharing of the outcomes when returning home thanks to meetings and the creation of a blog to disseminate the materials and the outcomes.
Since the project involves upgrading of teachers abroad , training methodology will be indicated by the training institutes .
At the end of the training experience abroad the results envisaged are: a higher level of teaching competence but most of all a deeper motivation which will enable participants to be tutors and leaders for peers in their field of specialization.
The improvement of teachers’ performance will have an immediate impact on students and colleagues in general while the competence acquired by the administrative employees will reflect on all the administrative staff with a positive impact on the interactions with users(students-parents and public in general)
