The EUROHOSTEL project responds to an identified need for the redefinition of professional profiles, at European level, within the Catering and Tourism sectors. The project aims at updating and redefining professional profiles in the Catering and Tourism sectors in order to adapt these profiles to current market demand and to European requirements and will develop new training curricula to allow the identified sectors to increase their competitiveness. To achieve this the project will develop and introduce methodology for the identification and definition of new professional profiles and for the updating of existing profiles. It will further develop and introduce a set of European Tourism Guidelines able to act as a guarantee of quality and to support the accreditation of new qualifications and competences. Project results, will be made available in all languages of the partnership (ES, EN, DE, IT, EL & RO) and will be produced and released in both paper and electronic support (CD-Rom) with an interactive website also being introduced to support dissemination of the project results. Target groups are primarily young people in initial vocational training and secondarily existing employees within the identified sectors. The main users of the project results will be vocational training bodies and other training practitioners.
