PROJECT

During 7 days in October 2014, around 25 young people, most of them with fewer opportunities from Solna (Sweden) and Mostar (Bosnia and Herzegovina) participated in a European youth exchange in Solna.
The Bosnian group was integrated by young people from an orphanage in Mostar, with different special needs (psicological, affectives, socio-cultural, economical...). The Swedish group was formed mostly for young people with special needs (down syndrom, autism, ADHD, etc.), but also other young people from Solna who wanted to support the project.
This exchange was a continuation of the activity which took place in Bosnien in October 2012, when the Swedish group was hosted in Mostar.
The main theme of the exchange was Youth Leisure, since we consider that leisure and free activities generate good chances for positive meetings among young people from different countries and contribute to develope young people's interest, knowledge and capabilities.
We had special focus in the possibilities instead of getting stopped for the difficulties.
During these days the participants visited youth centres and working places, shared daily rutins as well as exciting leisure activities that challenged them both as individuals and as a group.
The challenges that a European youth exchange offers were use as an important development tool due to the special charateristics of the group.
Another important focus of the project was peer learning among the youth leaders/organisations.
