EU Move 2

From experiences in the MOVE-IT study, the EU-Move project and the 'Meerwaard met IBPV'-study, we see that mobility of students and workers occur, but that there are still barriers to go abroad. These are to a large extend related to quality assurance of assessments, the quality of work placements and languages and intercultural aspects. Mobility is important for Europe in terms of creating a more competitive and dynamic economy. Mobility can help an individual to move quickly from school into a practical situation. Mobility expands and enriches the training and experience of people, enhancing their personal development and their intercultural understanding through language skills and exposure to other cultures and learning environments.Trainees are prepared for their future job, which is an advantage for both trainees (in finding a job) and for the companies (in having quality work force). The EU-Move project (http://www.eumoveabroad.eu), did set up a platform where relevant tools and instruments to facilitate mobility are present. The platform tries to minimize the barriers to go abroad. A trainee, company, VET-provider or a mentor can consult the portal to find a workplace, a student, information or supporting tools. Next step is to set up a system that can ensure easily highly qualitative and certified companies on the platform. In the situation as it is now, each partner in the cooperating countries in the project, have to check by themselves to qualify whether a company is qualified. In practice it means that it is expensive and time-consuming. The proposal in this project is to develop a network of agents in the cooperating countries to guarantee the quality of the companies. Partner organizations act as first point of contact for work placement companies and take care of relationship management and quality assurance in the work placement companies. In this situation the cap of distance and the language barrier can be bridged. Besides, it is a more efficiently way of working.
