An Action 3.1 Training Course under the name: "European Islam - Tradition, Cultural Diversity and Contemporary Challenges" to be held in Pristina, Kosovo, for a period of six working days (22/10/2012-29/10/2012). Partner promoter countries: Kosovo, Estonia, FYROM, Albania, Italy, Germany, Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, United Kingdom. Total number of participants: 27. The applicant, Better Life in Kosova (BLINK) is also the hosting organisation for the project. The training course addresses the place and role of Islam in contemporary Europe with particular reference to Islamic cultural heritage in Europe and its contemporary relevance. Through a programme based on non-formal education methods, the TC will explore the place of religion, culture and identity in today’s Europe, foster reflection on the factors that influence the portrayal of Islam in European societies and its place in public debate. The TC’s main objective is to equip participants - youth workers, volunteers and peer leaders - with tools and methods to address religious diversity issues in youth work. Main activities include a non-formal training programme facilitated by trainers from the United Kingdom and Albania as well as meetings with local youth and NGOs as well as visits to religious sites.
