Estrategias y metodologías para la motivación en la enseñanza de Adultos
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The Europe 2020 programme is a project for the smart growth of the European Union with which our continent is to emerge stronger from the crisis. It is based upon an inclusive, sustainable and smart economy delivering high levels of employment, productivity and social cohesion. Education and Training 2020 is a new strategic framework for European cooperation in education and training based upon the achievements of its predecessor, the ET2010 work programme. The conclusions drawn by the Council in 2009 established four strategic objectives for the framework: i) Making lifelong learning and mobility a reality. ii) Improving the quality and effectiveness of education and training. iii) Promoting equity, social cohesion and active citizenship. iv) Enhancing creativity and innovation, including entrepreneurship, at all levels of education and training. Considering the results released by Eurostat (Statistical Office of the European Communities) in 2011 regarding the educational indicators of the Europe 2020 programme, the LOMCE (Spanish organic law for the improvement of educational quality) highlights in its preface the early school leaving as one of the weaknesses of the Spanish education system, by placing the dropout rate at 26,5% in 2011, with a declining tendency but still far from the current European average value (13,5%) and the 10% target set by the European Union. Furthermore, it is also stated at the LOMCE that the European strategy for an inclusive, sustainable and smart growth has set five comprehensive objectives on employment, innovation, education, social integration as well as climate and energy. The Spanish education law also shows the objectives to be achieved by the EU to improve the education levels –by 2020 the European rate of early school leaving should have been cut down at less than 10% and, at least, 40% of the population between 30 and 40 years should have completed higher education. At present, we are facing some issues at our school regarding early school leaving, student absenteeism, lack of motivation, learning difficulties and conflicts between mixed-abilities students. For these reasons we are very interested in getting involved in this European project. The qualities of the 7 participating teachers include a mastery of the linguistic competence, a command of the digital competence required for coordination tasks with our Rumanian and Swedish coachs and international outspreading of our results. Our teaching staff also have experience in both regulated and informal teaching programmes aimed at the acquisition of a job or a professional qualification. The proposed activities are three and consist of - attending an advanced training course with a Romanian partner for the acquisition of new strategies and resources to motivate our students. The course, called “Interactive teaching – Using educational games in order to enhance learners' motivation”, will be held at the University of Oslo. - getting involved in an activity aimed at strengthen the linguistic competence. - participating in a job shadowing activity in order to acquire strategies/tools to improve transition to adult lilfe and employability. The methodology to be used will follow these guidelines: i) Develop our project. ii) Organize the trip, logistics and daily timetable. iii) Collect the relevant daily information regarding our training course. iv) Elaborate a documented report after the trip. v) Design motivating and engaging materials for students. vi) Organize the setting up of the acquired knowledge for the academic year 2015-2016. vii) Oversee monthly results. viii) Outspread our results in local, regional and state media. After completing the activities, our teaching staff will apply the acquired knowledge in the classroom, which will definitively benefit our students, improve their academic outcomes and reduce dropout and absenteeism rates. Furthermore, this experience will foster teachers’ interest in attending similar European training courses and also will be the starting point to set up new European channels for permanent exchange of ideas.
