IES Ses Estacions has been teaching some subjects in English and in French for some years. The project has been optimized over the years to reach more students, since we believe in its advantages. Several of the teachers involved have already been trained in linguistics, methodology or in both of them. Others, however, have not. More training in foreign language and methodology is needed (especially in Vocational Studies) for the teachers who don’t use their mother languages in class, but also for the members of the Foreign Language Department. That is why we are applying for 3 courses in English language and methodology for 3 teachers who teach their subjects in English. On the other hand, our school has many and very different projects aimed at students of varied interests. It takes good organization skills to introduce all our projects and plans effectively. Two members of the managing team will take a course in school management, which includes a visit to several model schools in the region. One of the new projects we want to introduce is offering our second year vocational students the possibility of doing their Working Training abroad. A teacher has been selected to coordinate this project. She will be sent to Ireland to follow a language course since, in our opinion, she will need a good command of English to establish contacts with our future partners abroad . All participants have a minimum level of B2 and they know some of the European communication tools. This will ensure the success of the training project. Some of the assets we believe this training project will provide our school are the following: teacher self-satisfaction as to their level of language and methodology; interest in transmitting a European dimension; potential school partners; enhancement of the school quality. The impact expected will certainly be extremely positive for the teachers involved, the students and the other teachers at the school who will also benefit from this project.
