With the help of the funding the Society established a nature protectionnetwork, which functions mainly as an ornithological monitoring network,based on voluntary work. Within the framework of the project which involvesthe entire Slovakian-Hungarian borderline (though it is mainly on the Hungarian side)the planned centre was set up and the Society arranged meetings in different parts ofthe country that are important for bird protection. GPS, telescopes and digital cameraswere purchased for the observations and the results were promoted on CDs, DVDs,VHS cassettes as well as on their own website. Fortunately, birds ignore borders so theinformation gained through the project is useful for the entire region.
