The "Youth meeting to stimulate culture and historical memory" is a bilateral exchange between youngsters from Santa Coloma de Gramenet (Spain) and Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina). Twenty participants aged 16 to 19 years old will meet in St. Coloma de Gramenet from the 5th to the 12th of September, they will work on issues as cultural exchange, peaceful resolution of conflicts and historical memory. The exchange fits in with the 75th year of the end of the Spanish Civil War wich is being commemorated in St. Coloma de Gramenet. The meeting will take place at the "Space for peace" in Mas Fonollar, a typical catalan house turned into an excellent municipal centre. The activities' methodology will be participative and experiencing and gender perspective will be permanently considered. The participants themselves are creating the activities throughout a 4 months formation process before the exchange, so their are highly engaged with it. Some of these activities are: a photographic gymkhana around town discovering the Spanish Civil War relevant sites, introduction to Sevillanas dance and to local gastronomy, trip to the beach on urban transports (bicycle, skateboard, longboard, etc). All this while the participants record a short film about the exchange that will be used to broadcast the experience, contributing to the generation of new initiatives in the region. However this project does not end here, next year we are planning a second part by means of a second meeting in Sarajevo.
