The overall aim of the EASE-project was to transfer the model of Basta, based on empowerment and social enterprise to Diagrama in the UK and Elia in France. The long-term effect foreseen was that at the end of the project the foundation would exist for two viable social enterprises in France & the UK, which would allow for employability and entry to the labour market for the final target group, offenders and marginalised groups. The project met the initial objectives as specified in the application form. Today Elia's activities have been merged with a sister social organisation, with the financial means to carry on activities. 3 people are currently employed in the activities. In England a philantropist will fund a two-year post for a Programme Director specifically to run the continuation of the Basta lookalike.
