Employability tuning
Start date: Jun 18, 2014, End date: Jun 17, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The overall understanding of this EVS project was to support the local community, the social services and obviously most important the development of our volunteers . Fostering the cooperation between the 2 partners was another aim of that project. Through this experience the volunteers got to know different areas (social, environmental and cultural) which gave them the chance to find a direction of their future (job). We are very sure that this volunteers experience raised their self-esteem and self-perception and with this also the volunteers employability very strong. The overall aim of this project was, to give young people with fewer opportunities the possibility of a volunteering experience on professional, cultural and personal level. The whole project and all the activities were related to the effects of our actions and the power of changing small attitudes. For this reason we have to mention, that the main focus was to structure the daily life of the volunteers. Being on time, sorting our your life routine but also increase your participation in daily life have been the most valuable interventions from our perspective. The basic elements of the activities were the cultural, environmental and social themes. Saying this, it must be admitted that after some weeks especially in the first project, the fire protection and gardening in the allotment became the core of the activity. As this were the most reliable and feasible ones. Regarding the volunteers role during the project: they had the opportunity to participate and learn about the different projects based on this themes that at this moment were developing in Muxia. Environment, culture and social services were explained and thought as a wider issue. As an important part of the personal development process designed, the volunteers had time to work on preparing their own micro-project to raise local awareness. This project involved he local community, what had the result that the local communtiy got European feeling and a better understanding of being an European and the volunteers had to do some research, they had to design the project and carried out all the logistics involving local partners. We made a special effort to achieve the greatest possible involvement of the community of Muxía. The collaboration and involvement of the local authorities in this project was very positive. Young volunteers integrated with the community through various activities. From the first moment, in Muxía, they were welcomed within the local community, authorities and stakeholders.
