Background of the project
The management and the international project team of Móravárosi Trade Vocational and Primary School of Szeged Center of Vocational Training prepared a European Development Plan in 2004 in order to achieve our main goal: to continuously develop the standard of our education and establish the European standard of our trainings.
The short-term goal of the European Develompent Plan: by participating in Erasmus+ Programme our colleagues can acquire the necessary skills to build international relationships and achieve cooperation, moreover to communicate and cooperate effectively with European partners. The colleagues can develop their basic skills (in language learning, IT, presentation and organisation) so that we will be able to succesfully participate in interantional projects in order to develop the intercultural skills of our students. The building of international relationships provide excellent opportunities to achieve several other goals as well described in our Pedagogical Programme.
Characteristics of the participants
The colleagues of the institute participating in the planning, preparation, the implementation of the project and the integration of the results are the members of the project team, the management of the school, the people managing mobility activities, the colleagues training others for mobility activities, and the colleagues integrating the results.
12% (6 persons) of our colleagues supporting educational and training activities have paricipated in realising mobility activities. 23% (26 persons) of our teachers have participated in international training courses or visited professional institutes and participated in job shadowing. Altogether 20% (32 persons) of our school have visited international locations.
The participants of the school together with the persons managing mobility activities in the project are 47% (10 emloyees, 65 teachers) Altogether 75 persons of our staff have participated in the realisation of the project.
The activities realised
32 activities have been realised during the project. The activities can be divided into three main groups:
1. Language courses (13 persons)- main goal: to aquire the necessary language knowledge (English and German) in the field of human resourses at school in order to achieve the goals described in the European Development Plan.
2. Professional trainings (7 persons) – main goal: to update the professional knowledge of our language teachers, get to know the methodology of adult education as well as learn the strategic methods of tender or project writing.
3. Visiting professional institutes – job shadowing (12 persons) – main goal: to observe the institutional good practices into the codes of practice of our institute (partly the exchange of experiences in relation with the internationalization, partly the studying of the most remarkable- and for us relevant – results of the partners.
During the entire period of the project we have put emphasis on the intergration of the results achieved into the institutional codes of practice as well as the continuous dissemination of these results, so that the achievement of our project could be known and used as widely as possible.
On the whole we can say: we have realised all our activities planned at the time of the submission of the project.
The results and effects of the project
The result of the project: the language proficiency, knowledge and skills of our participating colleagues have developed in the field of infocommunications techniques, knowledge of Europe and international cooperation.
The adaptation and integration of several good practices observed have been implemented into the institutional codes of practice.
As a result of the increasing participation of the school in international projects, we have been transforming into an educational institution of European dimension and the rate of students leaving school early has been continuously decreaisng at our school.
The long-term advantages of the project:
The recently obtained and advanced intercultural competencies of the teachers and indirectly the students will establish more cooperation projects of European standard in our institute. Furthermore, the development of intercultural competences will make our everyday activities easier – between the teachers and the students having different cultural backgrounds and capabilities.
The execution of workflows of European perspective will increase the effectiveness of the education and training activities of our school, and in the long run – as a result of the publication of the results – make our school more popular among the students who are at the point of deciding on their future career and looking for a secondary school to continue their studies.
The characteristics of the participants, the description of the activities realised, the results and the effects of the project and the development of the competences of the participants are detailed in table sum.xlsx.
