As indicated by Eurydice (2015), guidance services can play an important role in encouraging adults to take part in education and training. In particular, they can facilitate the process of setting learning and progression goals, of finding suitable education and training options and mapping out a pathway to reach the goals set. Furthermore, ‘effective information, guidance and counselling services can help create accessible learning environments, support learning at all ages and in a range of settings, and empower citizens to manage their learning and work' (OECD 2010, p 86). Career guidance is seen as having a key role in preventing inflows into unemployment, particularly long term unemployment. Also, according to the latest research of European Association for the Education of the Adults (EAEA 2015) and OECD (2008) Access to services is limited, particularly for adults. Too often services fail to develop people's career management skills, but focus upon immediate decisions. Training and qualification systems for those who provide services are often inadequate or inappropriate. Career guidance personnel in the PES tend to have limited specialised training. Their training often targets the development of organisational and administrative skills rather than of career guidance competencies. Our people (trainers or other kind of staff) in Lifelong Learning Centre of Sivitanidios Public School of Trades and Vocations have to broaden their knowledge, enhance their skills and learn how to benefit from ICT in providing career counseling to adults. We made an almost 5 months research to choose the host organisations and countries which we believe that represent best practices in the field of adult education and counseling. The training of our trainers will have the following schedule: 1 training in effective guidance techniques to properly treat and manage critical problems such as decision-making weakness, marginalization, lack of training, etc., & 2, practical training in modern ICT methods. This concerns the use of telematics (tele - counseling, Internet, phone, tele - conference etc.) in adult career counseling.Specifically the objectives are: 1. Training in adult career counseling, according to the examples of good practices of the european community.2. Strengthening and expanding cognitive tools, soft as well hard skills involved in approaching and communicating with adults, providing consulting on how to manage their problems (unemployment, weak hiring, decision making techniques etc.)3. Practice in innovative counseling methods that contribute to self-awareness and self - empowerment: psychometric tests, exercises on personal empowerment and promotion of slopes and skills through the constructivist theory4. Understanding the role of telematics applications in providing counselling services (Tele-Consulting) and familiarization in their use. 5. Train in preparation, design and implementation of targeted training programs for adults, either in person or remotely. Participants have estimated to be 12 individuals (6/flow) with a permanent employment relationship which ensures the proliferative contribution to our Centre. In particular we plan: 1. Study visit on professional guidance for adults in cooperation with consultants of the host countries. Exchange ideas on their current legal framework, analysis of good practices. 2. Courses on how to deal with specific target groups (migrants, women re-entering the labour market, long term unemployed), interview preparation to meet job opportunities (job interview), how to write a portfolio etc. 3. Courses on relevant adult education programmes of the host institutions such as innovative communication methods and technics that appeal to adults using telematics and ICT (search and information management, recruitment programmes, tele - guidance etc.). 4. Work - shop activities through role play, coaching, group or personal counselling, etc.The results expected are:1. To get trained in lifelong guidance and learn innovative methodological approaches of adult consulting, while using telematics and ICT2. To gain experience through best practices of lifelong counseling in host countries 3. To broaden knowledge and enhance soft and hard skills on how to prepare an adult for an interview, how to apply for a job, etc4. To get trained in organizing training programmes linked to the labour market (European/Greek) 5. To produce a personal diary as an outreach activity of what we gainedLong-term benefits would be: 1 Raise consultants’ awareness for continuous and non - stop personal training and enhancement of skills and knowledge. 2 The expansion of telematics as well ICT in lifelong guidance. 3 The creation of multipliers who will support and influence executives and adult education trainers. 4 The contribution to the greatest possible participation of adults in lifelong learning. 5 Decrease the gap between job positions & personal skills
