Every year over 1000 professional trainings are organized for secondary school teachers dedicated to secondary school teachers covering all subjects that are taught in secondary schools in Croatia. Still, although it is a part of currilula of few courses secondary school teachers in Croatia neither have any education on the European Union, nor any didactic materials how to teach on the EU. The aim of this project will be developing range of pedagogic skills and tools that can successfully be drawn upon to more effectively convey to teachers and pupils alike knowledge about the EU and to encourage teachers to become more familiar with the benefits of online earning and new tools in their own teaching of the EU.The method of this project will be series of workshops organized in all 21 counties. Workshops will cover the subject of the European Union by new method: through discussions and critical overview of the current events in the EU by professors of Faculty of Political Science, Philosophy Faculty and Faculty of Economics together with professionals from European Commission and Parliament, Croatian Parliament and Government. As there are approx. 2000 secondary school teachers that do teach European Union in their classes, this training will include 672 of them – that is around 33% of all teachers in Croatia that are covering European Union subject on the level of secondary education in Croatia. New didactical tools, never developed before in Croatia will be established: handbook and multimedia toolkit “How to teach the EU in the secondary school”. It will offer suggestions how to develop discussions, assignments, simulation games, quizzes for high school students. Webpage with webinar will be produced. As Croatian secondary school teachers that cover the issue of the European Union within their curricula have never been educated on the European Union, the impact of this training will be pioneering and very important.
