The main object of the project is to raise the quality of language teaching and learning in the sector of catering by developing a language training programme with materials and a European language portfolio for catering based on the key language competences, both as a template for further transfer to other sectors of VET. The project intends to raise the awareness and training through foreign languages, not only English, French and Spanish but also through the lesser-used languages, Norwegian, Slovenian and Dutch. It proposes to devise and produce a DVD together with a manual and a student portfolio designed as linguistic support in the preparation of short-term transnational placement trainees in the catering industry.
