East coast Table tennis

The project, East coast table tennis involves Kalmar tennis club ( HO), Kumulus (CO) and AYRUDZY NGO (SO) . This is a long term project of 10 months and it takes place in Kalmar, southeast Sweden . The project will hoast one volunteer, his name Aram Poghosyan and comes from a town called Artashat located close to Yerevan, capital of Armenian. The project aims to fight racism and xenophobia and to create a greater understanding of other cultures. In the project Kalmar BTK receive a volunteer whose main function is to help train the club's players in table tennis. The volunteer will support and relieve the club's regular trainer and also be responsible for and lead his own groups of players in the club if he feels he can do it. Kalmar BTK has table tennis groups of all ages , from groups of children and youth to senior citizen groups , they also have groups of disabled players in the club. With this broad spectrum of active members in the club volunteer will get a lot of experience in training and lead active participants of all ages and levels of fitness . The volunteer will be involved in the work of developing the club, participate and organize competitions and training camps with the club. He will also have the opportunity to run his own projects within the club. The volunteer will develop his leadership skills , grow as a person and experience a new culture, a new country and language. Players and managers in Kalmar BTK will bring in new thoughts and ideas about club and how it can be developed and new cultural experiences and approaches leading to more tolerance, less racism and xenophobia. To increase the quality of our projects, we will implement the Youth Pass. We will use the Youth Pass both as a tool to make informal and non formal learning opportunities for the volunteer during his stay in the project , and that a certificate for informal learning. With the exchange with a non EU country like Armenia, we hope that the project to spread the idea of the EU and create a positive image of the EU outside EU borders
