E-learning for Introduction and Management of Teleworking

Recognising the untapped potential of teleworking, the project enhances the capacity for SMEs to utilise teleworking in the management of their work and of their employees. This aim is to be achieved through the development and delivery of distance-learning training courses on teleworking; the development of accompanying handbooks for managers; the launch of a comparative study on teleworking, the identification of 'best practice' in teleworking and the organisation of related workshops and information days. Project results will include an online distance-learning education course on teleworking, comprising six individual modules on the management of teleworking; legal aspects of teleworking and the trade union perspective; teleworking ethics; the infrastructure of teleworking (hardware, software, technological issues); human resources management of teleworking and telework and the inclusive workforce. The course will be accompanied by printed materials, multimedia and interactive CD-Rom, a manual for trainers and guidelines for students. Additionally, a series of guidelines on teleworking will be produced for SME managers, HRD professionals and trade union representatives. Project partners include range of organisation types, many with experience of teleworking, that are well placed to disseminate the project's work and findings. The project website, accompanied by direct promotion of project courses with future users, will actively contribute to the dissemination process.
