The short term EVS project ?Dry stone wall extravaganza? was aiming to promote Archaeological site Colentum as valuable part of Europe?s cultural heritage. The project activity took place in Murter (Murter Island, Croatia) during September 2015. The fifteen young participants from Spain, Italy, Poland, Turkey and Bulgaria helped hosting organization in renewing dry stone walls surrounding the site. The volunteers used their newly acquired knowledge about history of Colentum and creativity to create a treasure hunt on the pathway which surrounds Colentum. Furthermore volunteers had freedom to create a flag of Colentum and decide where will be special stopping points on pathway and how will those look like. All of these activities contributed in improving Strategic Action Plan for development of Colentum. The volunteers organized different activities to get local/regional community and visitors aware of a values and potentials of a cultural/archaeological value. They benefited from the project in personal, professional, and social way; having the opportunity to learn about the importance of sustainable partnerships between local community, NGOs and decisions makers. The project activities aimed to encourage participation of young people in sustainable development, to motivate local/regional young people for active participation in order to ensure them working place (in community based local business) and to raise awareness about local resources that are still not recognized as economic development factors. The hosting organization successfully presented EVS and Erasmus Plus programme as an efficient tool for development of European common interest such as cultural heritage to the volunteers and local community.
