DROA - Development of networks for active career guidance

The DROA project aims to improve career guidance and advice as a means of improving lifelong learning and employment by setting up a network at two levels and making it permanent: an intra-regional network of local career guidance counsellors and advisors in a given region (one or two regions for each of the partner regions, or eight regions in total) and an institutional inter-regional network comprising the four regional driving forces in Europe (Catalonia, Lombardy, Rhône-Alpes, Baden-Württemberg). The aim is also to ensure that the network, which will be both human and technical in nature, provides information on occupations, training courses and measures which can be adapted to the requirements and expectations of individuals. This will be achieved by enhancing the skills of those working in the career guidance and advice field. The networks mentioned above will be responsible for conducting a comparative analysis between areas and regions of the way in which those involved are organised at local level, conducting a comparative analysis between areas and regions of local practice in the field of career guidance and career advice on the basis of three specific subjects: i.e. supervision and support to encourage individuals to stay in the profession, recruitment problems and equal opportunities. The project will thus involve defining a package of lifelong career guidance services by establishing norms and standards on quality which will serve as a common reference to promote better career guidance for all. The reference guide will be available in French, Catalan, Castilian, Italian and German and will be published on a website. The target groups are mainly the existing networks and the users of these services themselves.
