Description of project goals with a statement of main activities and their cross-border aspect In order to maintain the biological diversity of the Drava region, it is important to build cross-border relations in the environmental protection sector and establish a mutual exchange of information achieved through monitoring. The primary goal of the project was to select five potential locations on the Croatian side of the Drava, under the NATURA 2000 criteria, and to use joint efforts in the development of a monitoring protocol in 15 taxa. The project started a monitoring process, published the results and implemented regular reporting to selected target groups. On the Hungarian side, projects were developed for the revitalization of 6 rivulets. Achievements: A collection of scientific papers based on the monitoring process was published in English during the project, as well as a monitoring handbook in Croatian, written by 18 Hungarian and 21 Croatian authors. The collected data was systematized and entered into a joint database. For the purpose of informing the target groups, case studies (5) were prepared, as well as 5 leaflets and 1 poster in Croatian, Hungarian and English. The achieved results were also presented in three working meetings and several conferences, in scientific journals and lectures. Projects for the revitalization of natural habitats in 6 rivulets of the Drava were completed.
