The project “Download global and upload local”, within the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme, was a youth exchange to promote youth participation and awareness of the European rights and European citizenship , mainly regarding environmental protection.The main goal of the project was to increase the knowledge and understanding of European practices, policies and systems in the field of environmental protection. Therefore participants have spent time together, and create new tools for their communities. The applicant was the Municipality of Giungano, with the help of the local Youth Forum. Young people were involved, from other countries such as Romania and Macedonia, in a partnership with organizations that have a strong background in environment protection, as to protect and improve the natural environment. For macedonian and romanian organizations 7 young people participated and for Italy the group was made of 8 young people (16 to 22 years old) plus a group leader, and there was also a youth worker which has had the task of facilitate the group activities; so there was a total number of 26 participants.The organizations have had the task of collecting information and " Best Practices " and the events regarding environmental protection. The youths started from their experiences as promoters (in their context) and share them, trying to create connections between the different approaches. At the end of the project each group was invited to involve the local community, replicating the pattern of sharing of experience, gained in the days of activity. To achieve the results techniques of non-formal education have been used , such as thematic working groups (national and mixed), laboratories , world cafè and creative workshops . At the end of the activity participants were granted a Youthpass certificate with the skills acquired during the exchange .
