15 young volunteers from 7 different countries in Europe will arrive in Denmark to be involved in projects with different themes. Some will gain new skills and experiences working with disabled and socially disadvantaged adults, assisting in workshops, cooking, playing games, arranging activities and trips. Others will gain experiences and skills from working with either children or young people, assisting paedagogs and teachers in classes or creative, social and sport activities, and again some with work with culture, volunteering in a Culturehouse, assisting with/preparing cultural arrangements, cafe work, posters and other administrative task. Finally 3 volunteers work with inviroment, working in marine zoos, helping with the daily flow in the fishkitchen, mainteaneces and in time participate in the feedings/trainingsessions of the animals/fishes.
The volunteers will integrate into the local culture and population, learn the local language and adjust as well as she can to habits and traditions. Through blogs, newsletters and information are distributed to others in order to dissimilate aquired knowledge and understanding.
The main objectives of the project are:
- active involvement of young people in civic participation in the community development by the way of non-formal education,
- to promote international exchanges and cross-cultural understanding and tolerance,
- to create the necessary prerequisites for developing of personal and professional growth.
The main objective of an EVS project is a good impact on the volunteer, the host-organization and the local community the project is imbedded. To ensure a good impact, different aspects have to be considered:
The impact on local community will cause more awareness of ERASMUS + Program. The volunteers will have an opportunity to use all his\her experience from the project, to create the active way of participation and develop competences which are important both as for personal as professional future. The involvment in the local community will ensure that both Danish and volunteer’s community will benefit from the project.
Moreover the volunteer will get a Youthpass Certificate which is recognized by the European countries and is able to contribute to volunteer’s socialization. After the return to their home contries they will be evaluated and encouraged to compare her experiences in another, a different European culture to her Danish reality and her own cultural background in order to expand her knowledge about European cultures and variety. She will also meet with participants in other projects, so that volunteers to many different European countries will be present and a great variety of knowledge can be dissiminated. The volunteer will be encourraged to use the gained knowledge to the benefit of others through the activities in our organization.
