The Project „Digitalisation through the Implementation of Tablets and Digital Tools in school“ aims at supporting the professional transition of the Albertus-Magnus-Gymnasium in Ettlingen from a non-digital to a digital school. The goal is to enhance the quality of our school development plan by introducing modern tools, primarily tablets, into the classrooms. As a result, we will add new structures of innovation which will definitely change the processes of both teaching and learning on a daily basis. As a matter of fact, the mentioned above approach will provide new supportive digital systems and supportive digital methods which will foster education and consequently the motivation to explore further possibilities in this field. The participants of the project are teachers of the Albertus-Magnus-Gymnasium in Ettlingen. This team of teachers consists of five teachers performing multiple tasks, dealing with several functions and teaching different subjects in diverse departments. By having such a heterogeneity, we will be able to spread the acquired knowledge during the project more effectively and to a wider audience. Hence, the participants will act as multipliers within the institution. It is also necessary to mention that the school administration is providing full support to the teachers and will take the necessary measures to ensure a smooth flow during the period of the mobilities. The teachers will be taking part in in different advanced education trainings related to the usage and handling as well as the implementation of tablets and digital media in school. Besides, the contents of the training will also be dealing with best practices and classroom observations in order to identify the appropriate methods to apply to our institution. Since the trainings and courses will be taking place across Europe, the involved teachers will have the opportunity to experience a range of schemes and ways of working with digital media. This way, they will perceive the contribution of digital media in European education and the new chances they offer to both teachers, students and accordingly to schools in general by fostering education.
