PROJECT
FINISHED
Project Backround:Our school would like to establish a team of qualified teachers who understand the concept behind successful European schools. We would like to secure the development of our school over the nest 2-3 years by means of the the participating teachers acquiring the most experience and expertise possible. In 2015 it was possible for two teachers to visit a school in Sweden. Within a very short period of time it was clear that the school culture, in regards to interpersonal relationships and differentiated expectations and assessment practices in the implementation of integration, could direct us in making changes within our own school. These observations left an impression and have already motivated the pedagogues to apply rudimentary changes in the topic organized approach to learning. We find that there is great potential within education at the international level and aim to establish a deeper and clearly motivated pedagogic exchange with a Swedish school.Aims of the Project:We aim to incorporate the European dimension in the following areas:1. Understanding how inclusion is practised in Europe and collecting and applying the gained knowledge to further develop our own school and lesson concepts (continuing to develop individualized, differentiated and cooperative learning based on the approach in Scandinavia, and collecting ideas for promoting the learning of both the weaker and the stronger students so that each may achieve the best possible result.)2. Introduction of a transparent form of evaluation with the support of professionally developed assessment tables.3. Further development of a practical in-school curriculum based on experiences in Europe.4. Increased use of modern media in lessons based on observations gained abroad (Scandinavia, Italy, ...)5. Introduction of cross cultural exchanges and nurturing of international contacts (through e-mail, professional exchanges, hospitation, and the creation of an up to date internet presence.)Number and profile of participants:6 interested and engaged pedagogues who are interested in technical and didactic further education, and are ready to make their gained knowledge available and use it in lessons.Activities:4 specifically chosen 1 week further education courses. For example; Individual Development in Mixed Learning Groups, Structure Study Visit to Schools and Institutes and a Training Seminar in Iceland, Best Practices- Benchmarking (using tablets in education.) Hospitation:3 week job-shadowing/ hospitation in a Swedish school (Mörsil Skola)Expected Results, Impact and Uses:We expect to implement the described project goals and their long term application within the context of our school development. This includes the following connected aspects:Through the teacher exchange with a Swedish school and participation in carefully chosen further education, we expect an improvement in the use of methodical- didactic skills. In addition the project aims to enter into a didactic dialogue with foreign pedagogues and learn from other lands within the European Union. We hope that the exchanges with a Swedish school will result in additional intercultural benefits, which may both indirectly, through the example of our teachers, and directly, through the systematic integration of intercultural experiences and practices in school activities, transfer to our students. The school expects the development of skills in international cooperation, most especially in those pedagogues , who have little or no international experience at a professional level. The participants will improve in competence in the the field of communication too, as foreign language skills (English) once believed to be lost, will be reactivated and they will find themselves by the end of an exchange with the Swedish school, beginning to understand the once completely unknown language of Swedish. Once the project is successfully implemented in the everyday life of the school, a sport project with students of European schools is possible. The further Education course "Seminar on Outdoor Education, Landscape qualities and Outdoor venues"- Iceland,03.04. - 09.04.2017 will be a support in this.
