Development of the Educational Programme Together with Kostamuksha Branch of PEtrSU for the Needs of European Union Enterprises (Tacis)
Start date: Dec 19, 2007, End date: Dec 19, 2009 PROJECT  FINISHED

The general goal of the project is to increase cooperation between the industries in Northern Ostrobothnia and Kostomuksha by developing the ability to train employees of subsidiaries of Finnish companies located in Kostomuksha. The goal is to develop and standardise a modern and continuous educational programme that meets the needs of companies at the Kostomuksha branch of Petrozavodsk State University. The educational programme is to be designed in cooperation with the Finnish companies operating in the Kostomuksha area so that it meets their training needs effectively. A goal is that the educational programme to be developed can easily be customised for the needs of companies from other EU countries operating in the Kostomuksha area. A team of instructors will be selected from the Kostomuksha branch of the Petrozavodsk State University for (max. eight persons) training for the project. The facilitators of the training will be Finnish specialists, who will be selected together with the Finnish PCK Group’s subsidiaries located in Kostomuksha (OOO AEK and OOO Elektrokos). The instructors will be selected so that their area of expertise meets the training needs of companies; the focus areas will be finance, industrial engineering and management, human resource management, and logistics. The training of Russian instructors will begin with learning the basic training terminology and methods that are to be used when training company employees in the new educational programme. After this, the Finnish training facilitators and Russian instructors will plan, in cooperation with company specialists, an educational programme that consists of several courses for the Kostomuksha branch and will implement it as a pilot semester. Each Russian instructor who has participated in the training will facilitate a week-long course in their own area of expertise. By implementing the pilot semester, the Russian instructors will obtain an overall perception of the new training programme, from its planning phase right through to teaching it in practice. The educational programme’s pilot semester will be assessed. The ultimate goal of the project is that the educational programme developed will become part of the standardised educational offering of the Kostomuksha branch of Petrozavodsk State University for European companies.
