Development of Environments through Leisure and Traditional Activities

DELTA project is the result of a long process that started in 2013, when Municipality of taglio di Po organized, within the local Youth Information Service, a training course on EU policies, specifically linked to youth projects.
The initiative was really apreciated and continued with the establishment of a group of young people interested in working with the local authority on the subject.
The entire flow was supported and supervised by the Social Cooperative Studio Progetto, that manages the local youth information centre, and that is prepared on the topic of Community policies and of the Erasmus+. In early 2014, the municipality has therefore promoted a further workshop, which foorseen eight meetings and led to the formulation of the proposal.
The DELTA project promoted a youth exchange realized in the town of Taglio di Po, Italy, from 21st till 30th of August 2015, involving 7 European organizations, six groups for a total of 36 young people, from 6 different European nationalities, on issues related to environmental promotion and the arise of land resources through artistic expressions.
The program offered a path of knowledge of the area of the Po Delta, its peculiarities and its environmental characteristics, and the discovery of the potentials hidden in it, particularly aimed at enhancing youth projects.
Project participants joined activities on the theme of improvement of the environment and youth participation in community life, with a focus on rural areas, and saw its conclusion in the realization of an essay of Land Art (direct intervention of the artist on the environment) on the municipal area.
The DELTA project thus provideed: excursions, visits the area, workshops related to typical artistic products of the territory, role plays and simulations on the issue, workshop for the preparations of the elaborate of Land Art.
In addition to European organizations partners, a large number of local actors were involved in DELTA (neighbouring municipalities, voluntary associations and social promotion, informal groups, citizens). They took part to the final presentation of the elaborate and were involved in the process of rethinking the promotion of youth project in their territory area.
Participants were hosted in a structure ready to receive a younger audience and properly connected to the main roads.
