Start date: Aug 31, 2008, End date: Aug 30, 2011 PROJECT  FINISHED

Rügen, Swinoujscie, Southeast Skåne and Bornholm established South Baltic Four Corners cooperation in 1995 since then there have been many joint activities with high political priority. The project-idea is based on our cultural and natural heritage, develop the joint promotion by including the small guest harbours and archaeological/historical sites. Through professional networking and coordination, new ideas and products with joint cross-border interest will be produced. There are two target groups of the project: experts of areas developed within the project and inhabitants and visitors of the Four Corner area. The project will develop a joint promotion based on values from our common heritage such as archaeological treasures or historical events which makes our region an interesting place to visit and to live in.We will develop our cooperation, improve our understanding and meeting techniques, we’ll start to use electronical conferences to reduce travel. Sustainability is in focus. Achievements: The Four Corners heritage Project aimed to produce outputs that could do this. For example:• Cultural network between artists. • Improved contact and information network between harbour masters. • Network between small harbours to promote the four corner maritime regions and the surrounding area. The main achievement of the project in terms of cross-border exchange and cross-border cooperation is improving the quality of the visitor experience with the installation of infrastructure (info-stands) and information (websites, guides)
