The main themes of our project are art and culture and we want to bring welfare to our society through them. The project has similar aims with Kattilakoski culture cooperative. Kärsämäki municipality has the cultural responsibility on it´s area (South of Oulu), and cooperative is willing to help in fulfilling this task. The activities and the happenings, for example art workshops, that the volunteers are about to organize bring variation to the cultural palette and variety of activities. International volunteers and their actions interests also people who aren´t usually part of cooperative´s activities. Erasmus+ volunteering enrichen especially everyday-life of youth and encourages them to be more international and use and improve language skills. Because Kattilakoski culture cooperative functions as a coordinator of cooperation on a local level, the volunteers can participate in the activities of the local cultural field on a wide range. The volunteers will be included in the functions and main tasks of the cooperative. Organization also expects volunteers to put effort on executing the given tasks. The given duties are: starting the gallery of cooperative, developing the function of artist residence, participate in producing the Ars Kärsämäki young artist´s experience, animate and revitalize the central places of Kärsämäki by pop-up art-galleries. In addition the volunteers will be part of cooperatives happenings and are obliged to produce visual material (posters) for the cooperative and take care of everyday tasks (preparing coffee at the meetings, cleaning, doing laundry etc.). The method used in the project is exchange of knowledge, skills and culture between the participants of the project. We as a hosting organization offer a great opportunity for volunteers to develop themselves in our guidance and vice versa we get the change to develop ourselves and we gain cultural competence and skills that are helpful for our future (like ability to use adobe programs and develop and make us of art as a part of cooperative´s functions). This exchange of skills is in this case is like sharing of competences to support the growth of each part of the project. The volunteers chosen for the project are both Italians born in 1986. They have artistic backgrounds; Daria Toriello is visual/interior designer and Roberto Eduardo Maria Mazzarago is an artist. They´ve been executing several projects together and they´ve been also running their own gallery. We believe that our cooperation will be very constructive. Erasmus+ experience will advance the career of volunteers and prevent segregation by giving them versatile working experience and international experience, by improving their language skills and by creating networks that can be useful in the future. Project will be fruitful for our organization and for its sub-associations. We need more ideas and shoulders to carry on with our projects and activities. On a large scale we see that projects like this will create the roots and the ground for the international and culture-optimistic atmosphere in the commune. We also believe that this is an good impact for the image of Kärsämäki, and possibly it attracts more citizens for the village. By these projects we want to maintain vividness and future optimistic atmosphere of the community despite of the hard economical and challenging times of small rural areas.
