Developing and Delivering Innovative ICT Vocational Guidance Services-Virtual Guidance
This project will transfer the major activities of a previous project named “ICT Skills for Guidance Counsellors” which was funded within the “Reference Material” measure of the Leonardo da Vinci Programme. Although ICT has provided unprecedented access to information and tools for instruction and assessments regardless of time and location of the counsellors/client and has brought important changes in the delivery of career services, the Turkish vocational practitioners rarely use ICT. By introducing ICT competencies to the Turkish vocational guidance practitioners will enable them to deliver their services more effectively. Furthermore, the documents about ICT competences will provide a context for implications for training of guidance counsellors in Turkey. These improvements will increase the skills of guidance counsellors and their productivity and subsequently these of their clients which in turn will contribute positively to the Turkish and then to EU economy. Therefore the main aims of this project are to translate the ICT competences Map and other documents related to ICT and guidance and adapt them into Turkish and other partner countries as well as develop new material and create the opportunity for other partner countries to transfer the above. A training program will also be prepared and implemented in Turkey together with web based software. The project will be implemented by well acknowledged Turkish and non Turkish organisations. As being the applicant organisation of the project, KARDER will be responsible for the overall management and implementation of the project. All project partners involved vocational guidance activities either in academically (IKDAM, abif, Institutul de Stiinte ale Educatiei) or practically (ISKUR, KARDER, EDUSER). DIJITEK is a private company highly specialised developing and delivering ICT services. The other common characteristic of the partners is that they all have extensive experience in project management and implementation. We are expecting a high degree of collaboration within the project. Substantive contributions are expected to be made by all the project partners. Very importantly, this project is expected to modernise guidance provision and raise quality standards in delivering guidance services.
