PROJECT
FINISHED
Tietgen is very experienced in the field of international collaboration in general. However, staff mobility is not an area of which we are experienced. As a part of our international strategy, we wish to increase internationalisation and to bring approaches to the classrooms reflecting our European identity. In order to achieve these goals, we need teachers with an international mind set, good cultural understanding and excellent linguistic competences. When hiring teachers, we already look for such characteristics. However, we believe that it is necessary to keep developing our teachers’ skills in this respect. As our classrooms are increasingly multicultural, many of these competencies become highly important. By making teacher mobility possible, this project is considered the first step towards a bigger comprehensive international network of schools across Europe. In the longer run, this is expected to lead to more comprehensive collaboration including student mobility, allowing students to study abroad or do internships for a short period of time. This is currently being incorporated in our international strategy. There will be 29 participants in the mobility project with various backgrounds representing all areas of the school. Especially teachers within the areas of languages, social sciences and entrepreneurship (e.g. innovation, marketing etc.) will be given priority. The activities in the project will be staff mobility; the exchange of teachers. Teachers will be acting as guest teachers and/or do 'job-shadowing' in the school visited. Before and after the visit, teachers will work together and exchange experiences for example related to methodology, cases and subjects.
