Develop the excess ater inundation prevention system on the Hungarian-Romania border area (DEWIPS) (DEWIPS)

The aim of the project is to develop the inland flood prevention safety of the area lying on the two sides of the Hungarian-Romanian border. The general objective is to increase safety against inland flooding in the Mures river basin area and the effectiveness of protection against harmful inland waters. The specific objectives are to develop the working conditions of the staff by renovating the guard houses (including IT developments) and to increase the throughput of the canals by renovating the canals, and purchasing a floating maintenance machine. The main activities of the project are: conducting water safety investments (infrastructure development of the guard houses, geodetic measurements on the related canals, renovation and development of works on inland inundation protection canals, purchase of equipments for maintenance, IT equipment purchase). The direct beneficiaries of the project are the water management experts and employees of the institutions involved in the project, as well as the authorities from the project area. The indirect beneficiaries of the project are the members of the population of the basin - about 200,000 people.
