Search for European Projects

Deutsch-Spanische Bildungspartnerschaft
Start date: Sep 1, 2014, End date: Aug 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

As a consequence of the deregulation of the European markets the exchange of goods and services has become omnipresent. Also in the area of skilled manual and commercial work exchanges are more and more usual. Technical professionals out of many other European nations are coming to Germany in order to offer their services and earn their livelihood. As a consequence, the amount of professional contacts between companies in Germany and other countries has increased substantially during the last years. Furthermore European institutions show a clear tendency to facilitate the release of technical services as well as the acceptance of professional grades and so give access to a market of services which was widely protected during the past. In order to prepare German and Spanish skilled manual workers and professionals for this situation it is required to explain the European dimension of the technical and commercial formation in an early state. Furthermore the exchange of future professionals provides an understanding of the “old” and “new” dimension of European collaboration in the technical area. As a historical example the medieval artisans, who travelled across Europe in order to transmit and enhance their technical knowledge and traditions, can be mentioned. The knowledge exchange facilitated by these journeys finally led to a prime time of European architecture which could be maintained during many decades. This is only one example of the positive effect for all participants of a professional exchange. Another aspect which can be experienced during this exchange is the understanding of the steps to be taken during the transition between school and professional life. During the exchange the participants will be enabled to analyze and compare the educational systems of the sending and the receiving country. Furthermore advantages and disadvantages of the respective systems can be identified and used as a basis for a future optimization. Another argument for a strong collaboration in the technical and commercial area is the strong presence of German medium-sized companies in the area of production of plaster and dry constructions on the European - and especially on the Spanish - market. One aspect of the projected exchange is to facilitate an on-site contact with the corresponding companies which are all located in the area of Baden-Württemberg and which all have strong industrial representations in Spain. One of these companies is the owner of a foundation dedicated to the fomentation and support of technical and professional students. Within this projected exchange different groups and stakeholders will be involved: On one hand public educational institutions will work together on a European level, strengthening European collaboration and mobility. On the other hand industrial partners will be integrated and enabled to think in European categories, also on a technical an artisanal level.
