PROJECT

Designers Agains AIDS (DAA) develops cultural and artistic projects with concerned partners in its various campaigns for safe sex. These projects are then promoted (media and communications) in partnership with celebrities or the authoring artists themselves to guarantee the maximum diffusion of the campaigns. Volunteers will participate in these projects as well as fundamental training in safe sex communication, creative workshops in media and social networking for the cause and selected personal projects. Tasks will be very variable, from administration to creative thinking and joining us on the field (i.e. Events, collaborations with fashion brands,..) The volunteers will have the chance to be active members of our team and work on International awareness campaigns. They will learn how to manage projects, do both inbound and outbound communication and put creative ideas into concrete, measurable results.
The volunteer will help us develop workshops that can be implemented in schools to talk to youth about safe sex. Also they will work with us on developing strategies how to tackle HIV prevention on any level possible and how we can reach a big amount of the youngsters that are present there. This includes the volunteer joining in on certain campaigns (eg JBC, Eastpak, Music for Life, Studay, World Aids Day,...) to get a feel of how the strategies work and what we can improve them. Over the whole period, the volunteers will be based in Antwerp, Belgium at the DAA?s International HIV/AIDS Awareness Education Center. During that period the volunteers will get the opportunity to work in a young and dynamic team, in an atmosphere where they can develop and implement their own take on the campaign. They will have at their disposal previous and various DAA?s campaigns, to stimulate creativity in developing their campaigns. Coupled with the experience and enthusiasm of the team, the participant will have all the necessary ingredients for a successful, convivial and most importantly relevant mission.
