In the framework of the project, the licensed construction plan and feasibility study ofsufficient detail were completed as required for the extension of the flood protectionsystem towards Romania. Design essentially meant the mutual transmision of themeasured and indicated data of distant signal and precipitation radar stations alreadyoperating in Hungary and under construction in Romania by extending the microwavechain already partly completed in Hungary, with a connection point at Satu Mare.Thereby the automatic query of water level, precipitation, air temperature and waterquality data as well as radar images at fixed intervals was realized. Project fundingenabled data traffic and direct phone connection between the protection centres ofthe two countries and officials controlling protection.
