PROJECT
FINISHED
In order to be seen as an attractive institution of education, the Upper Secondary School Olav Duun vgs wants to offer exiting programmes and activities for students of this region. Collaborative international work and studies are therefore important for our school.
This year 15 students and 5 teachers from year one at the programme for Building and construction have been given the opportunity to go abroad. In the project applied for 30 students and 4 accompanying teachers will have this opportunity. In addition, 5 teachers from other vocational teaching programmes will have a pre-project visit to examine and consider similar projects for their fields of study.
The aim of this project is that participants will improve their professional and social competence. The improvement is to be achieved by staying at an English-speaking Vocational College, and by being accommodated in home-stays. A professional improvement is expected in vocational subjects, English and other subjects involving main parts of the curriculum.
To evaluate students’ advantages of the visit we will emphasize several studying activities framing the visit abroad: planning, tests, interviews, reports and presentations.
Due to globalisation and companies operating on the international market, this project will support vocational- and language skills, and motivate students to participate in an international working life. This is important to give the best vocational education.
