DEAL: Developing and improving teaching and leadership skills

1. Background and motivation Everyday life is changing rapidly. This however is not seen in schoollife, which seems to cherrish traditional methods for example in teaching and leadership. However the national curriculum is changing and we wish to implement new ways of approaching learning, learning environments and management. 2. Objectives We are aiming at concretely develop the physical and virtual learning environments through participative design of learning processes with the partners. We are also aiming at changing attitudes among the staff. 3. Actions and methodology Our goal is to carry out staff training for five people in this Erasmus+ - project. The five people were selected for the project carefully in order to best fulfill the needs of our school, and especially to quarantee that the impact will be important and results will be disseminated broadly. The mobilities will include three courses: one on instructional leardership (Kurs21Nord in Iceland), two courses on related issues. Two of the mobilities are job-shadowings in the partnerschool. Kurs21Nord is a longlasting network including participants mainly from Nordic countries aiming at improving and developing schoolwork. 4. Results and impacts The project will enable us to improve our own work innovatively. We will get more understanding about the use of ICT, about the influence of the learning environment on learning and teaching. We will develop new teaching methods in relation to European framework and achieve experience and knowledge about instructional leardership. The results may be important and useful in future teacher training and design of learning and teaching practices.
