During the project "Rising the education quality of employees health care professionals" five employees of Institute of Hygiene
Occupational Health Centre (HI PSC) attended the training courses organized by Nordic Institute for Advanced Training in Occupational Health (NIVA), and participated in job observation visits in Finnish Institute of Occupational Health (FIOH). Participating employees prepare material for trainings, publications, recommendations, innovations, implement research projects and advise occupational health professionals in their work.
Two main aims of the project could be mentioned:
- to improve the quality of services provided by employee health care specialists and increase the availability of these services to all Lithuanian employees with the help of innovative and high-quality professional development trainings;
- and to disseminate the best practices of foreign countries in such a health topics like development of safe psychosocial environment, strengthening workplace health promotion, creating the conditions for healthy aging at work and occupational safety and health cost-benefit calculation with the help of trainings, information publications, recommendations or assistance.
During the mobility activities participants have gained knowledge and practical skills in such a topics like health promotion in the workplace, creating the conditions for healthy aging at work, occupational health and safety economics, employers' motivation, development of safe psychosocial environment.
Increased professional competence and the ability to apply the knowledge directly in the duties have rised the participants' ability to prepare high-quality material for training programs, implement best practices, participate in international projects, advise and inform the target group of HI PSC - occupational health care specialists. This cancontribute to better employees health care and promotion, that will create the conditions for the productivity growth, decline in sickness absence, and governmental and enterprises' costs savings, related to compensations.
