PROJECT
FINISHED
Chance for students:
Until now we have been developing international cooperation for one main reason - to help our students with social and emotional problems to achieve self-esteem and self –confidence. The goal of the project is to include majority of our students into project.
The most of our youngsters were not included into school projects in their past schools because of misbehaviour and other troubles.
They have not been abroad with their families and they do not know, that there are some wider possibilities for employment after finishing school, or to gain professional experience abroad.
Chance for teachers:
It is our belief that also the staff needs the possibility to improve their knowledge, to compare different approaches in pedagogical practice. Although they are all teachers with special pedagogic education and are equipped to work with troubled youngsters, they need more opportunities to exchange experiences with their European colleagues. It is also needed since we are, as mentioned before, the only institution for youngsters in Slovenia and we do not have enough chances to exchange practice, views and opinions.
Chance for institution:
Depending on the age of the youngsters and on their readiness to accept responsibility the tutors act mostly as advisers and animators and not so much as supervisors. Between the tutors and the youngsters democratic and human relationships are established.
In the project are involved 14 students of vocational education and training, direction gastronome hotelier and direction administrator and 8 teachers theoretical, professional-theoretical education and training. Duration of project is two years.
Students will be attend traineeships, teachers will be attend job shadowing at vocational schools with a focus on early school leavers and enterprises - become familiar with the development of the profession - green agriculture, hospitality and tourism, silver economy, the use of computer programs for the archiving...
