Cycling for Mother Nature

Resource Centre Leskovac from Serbia will, as host organization, together with partners from Lithuania, FYROM, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany, Albania, Italy, Romania and Poland, organize a 10 day (excluding travel days) youth exchange under the project name CYCLING FOR MOTHER NATURE for 45 young people aged 17-27 in order to raise awareness on importance of personal contribution to protection of environment, nature as well as healthy and “green” lifestyles. Youth exchange will be held on three locations in South-eastern Serbia which represent natural resorts (Zavojsko Lake, Sicevo canyon and Vucjanka canyon) among which participants will travel by bicycles thereby promoting healthy/green lifestyles and necessity of sustainable development. Apart from cycling through smaller towns and villages where they will talk with local inhabitants, participants will be accommodated in rural households where they will be able to learn about healthy and traditional way of life and preparation of food. Objectives of the project are:• To rise awareness about today’s’ problem of environmental protection• To raise awareness and learn the ways to ensure active participation of young people related to personal responsibility and everyday contribution to sustainable development • To promote cycling and traditional preparation of food as healthy and green lifestyles• To share experiences and learning by doing and reflect on participants’ experiences Activities will be divided into preparation phase which will include APV, realization phase which will include different activities and events and evaluation. Using different working methods (discussions in small mixed groups and plenary, group work, workshops, individual work, presentations, outdoor activities, etc) participants will experience process of principles such as dialogue, mutual understanding, giving constructive feedback, decision making, self-exploration, attitude of analytical approach.
